My search for a new laptop

Update: I ended up ordering a laptop off of costco.com, it doesn't even have a graphics card. It has 12 gb of ram and a intel core i7.  Here it is: Acer Aspire V5-561P
Adobe Photoshop CC runs really well on it also!

My laptop has lasted me 5 years! The processer is slow. I only have 4 GB of RAM
, and I have an integrated graphics card.  I need to buy a new laptop.

There are laptops with Solid State Drives
, those with 12 GB of ram, others with Beats audio
. There are just too many laptops to choose from.

I was watching a TED talk about The Paradox of Choice: Why More Is Less. The author mentions how it is too difficult for customers to choose health care from their employers, so most of them don't chose at all. I asked myself this question: Why don't brands listen to this guy and fix their products?

Apple is the only brand that tries to do this.  Apple only has 2 kinds of laptops. Macbook pros and Macbook airs. Of course, there are different screen sizes and configurations. But, it is so easy to choose a mac and then buy it! Other companies should take a hint from Apple.

There are so many other brands. Here are the major ones: HP, Dell, Acer, Asus, Alienware, Samsung, Toshiba, Lenovo, Sony VAIO, and even Microsoft (surface). Competition is good for the consumers. But, There are so many different series of laptops and so many configurations. There is just too much choice.

If each brand were to have two signature laptops, it would be so much easier for the consumer to choose. These businesses would also be more profitable.

For now,  I am going  stick with my laptop until I can afford a Fancy Macbook Pro.
